Using Parameters in Queries

The Aginity Workbench allows you to use parameter substitution at runtime to replace parameters with real values for your SQL queries. This makes it easy to create reusable queries for a variety of situations.
All you need to do is place a $param_name within your SQL where you want to substitute values at runtime. For example, the query below uses a parameter $sample_size as a place holder at runtime.
select * from my_table where random() <= $sample_size
When you run the query, Aginity Workbench will prompt you with a dialog for the value.
